American Beer Reviews: The Best Microbrews in the USA

The best microbrews in the USA are detailed in my American beer reviews. Here's how this section of the site is going to work: I go out to one of my favorite beer stores that let's you build your own six-pack. I pick up a sixer of similar style brews or perhaps a light to dark combination. I'll probably test one or two per sitting as six microbrews in a row can end up being trouble the next morning if you know what I'm saying :)

As I pry the top off each brew I start my review. I start with the basics like the style, brewery, label design, and alcohol percentage. Then it's time to test the aroma of the microbrew while it's still in the bottle. After that I pour the beer into my glass and check the color, re-test the aroma(nose in the glass!), and finally take my first taste. During the taste test I look for the initial flavors, the mouthy feel to the brew, the carbonation level, and of course the aftertaste once I swallow the brew. When my glass is empty I give a final synopsis of the microbrew that includes a rating of 1 to 10 with a 10 being the best.

I prefer microbrew out of a keg as opposed to the bottle. The same goes for commercial beers. So I'll also work in some American beer reviews when I'm out on the town and get the chance to partake in some draft microbrews. There's nothing like sitting in a brewpub downing a couple pints of their latest draught beer offering. I always like to try something different, but at the same time I do have my favorite microbrews that I can fall back on.

In my quest to find the best microbrews in the USA I'll test a variety of beer styles including pale ale, india pale ale(my favorite), amber ale, american wheat, stout, porter, lager, belgian, plus other variations of microbrew.
